We started off with the Death By Audio - Absolute Destruction schematic and started modifying and changing. Things got out of hand pretty quickly and the result is madness. Proper stupid sounds!
PILLAGER is a strange mix of Distortion, Fuzz and Broken. It can still get classic thick, chunky tones but easily moves to completely broken Fuzz stupidity. Your signal can be fully held and slowly let back like an over compressed 8 bit gate! Or it can get that gritty Distortion sound.
BEWARE: This pedal is not for the faint hearted and is pretty hard to control (see below):
- Volume does what you expect
- Gain does what you expect as well but is also VITAL to setting the next two knobs
- Break overloads the circuit (depending on the Gain setting). Small adjustments here, combined with the Gain, make a huge difference! This controls how broken the circuit gets! Rolling back the guitar volume at full breakup can pull this back (if wanted).
- Destroy pushes the circuit as far as it can go. Fully left is standard and fully right is max.
